The Metropolitan Museum of Art - New York City, US - Black and White Series 1 by Mohamed Boraie

In 2018, I have decided that I will only publish black and white pictures on my website blog and on Instagram.

My focus this year be on travel photography in black and white. Through my travels, I will challenge myself to produce well-crafted stories through themes that are captured only in black and white.

The first story is from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. During my first visit to The Met, I was truly overwhelmed that I thought it would be better to soak it all in before I take any pictures. Funny enough I had to come back for 5 times to fully experience all the different exhibits and think about the theme for this series.

Normally I have a very specific routine when I am visiting museums. It stars with wandering around aimlessly for the first 2 hours. Afterwards, I will stop for a quick coffee break to check out the museum map and the suggested exhibitions. An average museum trip will be from 5-7 hours with a couple of breaks during for lunch and recharge.

The theme for this series mainly is focused on two things: reflection and statues. In some pictures, you will see both themes captured.

I hope you enjoy them!
